Jess has spent the day working at a film studio doing underwear promotional commercials. After she finished filming her scenes, she wanders round the studios looking around at the different sets with interest, and finds an unused studio set that she thinks must have been for a horror movie, with a tall cage complete with handcuffs and chains. Fascinated by her discovery and really curious to feel what it would be like to be chained up in such a cage she sees the keys in the lock and thinks to herself, why not try it out?

Jess takes off her robe, puts on the leg-cuffs, gets into the cage, bolts and padlocks the cage door, then hangs the keys where she will be able to reach them, before clicking the handcuffs attached by chains to the top of the cage, closed around her wrists. She tests the chains and struggles against the bonds, imagining what it would be like to be chained up in the cage for real. After a few minutes Jess thinks she should let herself out and unclips the keys from where she has left them hanging within reach on the side of the cage.

As Jess is about to unlock the first handcuff the keys slip from her grasp and fall to the floor. Jess gasps in horror as she sees the keys fall and bounce, landing just outside the cage but maybe within the reach of her chained feet. She only wanted to know what it would feel like to be chained in the cage, a second of carelessness has now just made the experience far more authentic than she had planned!

Jess tries to reach the keys with her toes but realises despairingly that with her ankles cuffed and her hands chained above her head, any attempt to retrieve them is futile. Jess struggles to get free from the steel handcuffs and chains to no avail. These are no fake movie props, the chains and handcuffs are the real deal. Without the keys there is no way she can escape.

As the background noise diminishes, Jess realises the rest of the actors and crew must be finishing up for the day and going home. It dawns on her that nobody knew she went for a wander around the studios, they will all think she has left already. Jess calls out but nobody comes. Everyone has gone, the studios now deserted for the night.

Jess resigns herself to the thought that she only wanted to try the cage to see what it felt like but now she will have to endure the experience of being chained up in a cage for many hours for real, until the film crew turn up for work at the studios tomorrow morning. It could be just the start of a very long night..
