So onto of being tall gangly geek, he sets himself up for frothier ridicule and with things like pink boxing gloves.

I mean he really sets himself up for . Because as it turns out, Saharra isn't his trainer at all. She's actually just a bully herself who likes to wait for eager weaklings to learn to stand up for themselves. Then she pretends to be there for their own good. Impersonating a self defense trainer. Only to get in close enough to beat them down and remind them of their place in this world. She purposely directs him in ways to open himself up to all of her strikes, and he just keeps buying it, and getting struck in the head for it. He can take quite a few blows though, I'll give him that. But eventually his body will break, and then, her real nerd punishment can begin.
