Emma is crutching on a rainy day with a cast sock protecting her casted foot. The problem is the sock isn't very protective for rain. She knows of a shortcut through the tennis court to get her damp cast foot out in the rain. She crutches up steep stairs but the problem is the gate is locked and she has to struggle down the stairs again. By now her cast sock is damp through and through and her poor toes are cold. She props her foot up on a bench and pulls the sock off to check her cold toes. Then she has no choice but to put the sock back on and crutch on.
