River gets a call from her bff Aften, she asks River for a favor, Aften's step-dad has had a rough lonely year after Aften's step-mom left him, he still through all this has been so good to Aften, so Aften wanted to do something special for him for xmas! that is where River comes in, Aften asks River to if she wouldn't mind going over to to his home to "cheer him up", Aften was just thinking that maybe River could bring him some food and maybe clean around his house or something.
