Nicky's step-father has been outside working and has come into the kitchen for a drink. Nicky gladly gives him a glass of water, and his step-father drinks it, not knowing that Nicky has put shrinking powder into the water. Nicky's step-father shrinks until he is tiny while Nicky humiliates him for not only being so small, but also being a pathetic step-father figure. Nicky shows how tiny his step-father is by trampling his step-father with his now-enormous feet.
