After some run-ins with bad ponies, who are too feisty or startle easily, I have decided to put this one to the test before I'm willing to mount up! So first, I start with some basic pony training exercises.

Longeing (pronounced lungeing) is a technique where a horse works at the end of a long line and respond to commands from a handler who holds the line. It is performed in a circle with the horse traveling around the outside edge of a real or imaginary ring, with its trainer in the middle.

Longeing is used to teach a horse how to respond to voice commands and the trainer's body language, to accustom them to the feel of a saddle and bridle and to begin their introduction to the feel of reins and bit pressure. It is a chance for horse and trainer to practice movement at all gaits, responding to voice commands and remaining calm in unusual or stressful situations. It can also be used to "blow off steam" or "get the bucks out" before a rider gets on.

My slave is also wearing special hoofed boots with proper horseshoes installed. I bet we would make a delightful racket on a cobblestone street together!

Just working my pony at the end of the line isn't exciting enough for me... so I set out to discover if my new toy really is “hung like a horse.”
