But as Vika lunged forward, her eyes met Mya's and she was struck by her ethereal beauty, which seemed to radiate even more brilliantly underwater. She stopped in her tracks, transfixed.
Noticing Vika's sudden stillness, Mya turned to see what had caught her attention. She saw the look of wonder on Vika's face and smiled beneath her mask. Slowly, she swam towards her, reaching out to take her hand.
But just as their fingers brushed against each other, Vika's trance-like state caused her to stop breathing. Panic flooded through Mya as she quickly brought Vika to the shallow end of the pool, removing her regulator and administering mouth-to-mouth resuscitation. After several tense moments, Vika gasped for air and opened her eyes, chest heaving.
Relief washed over Mya as she held Vika close, grateful that she was safe. And in that moment, with their bodies pressed together and their lips mere inches apart, they shared a passionate kiss underwater, their love bursting forth in a flurry of bubbles and emotions.
