You can literally feel her misery as Ariel desperately tries to reach her cuffed hands through the bars to get at the tray food so tantalizing close. She hasn't been fed since waking in the cage and now that she's so close her husband notices and moves the tray out of reach frustrating the whimpering girl into near tears.
