It was just a ruse to torment her further and in a great close up he rips the key from Slyyy's hand and puts it in his pocket as he kneels next to the poor girl. Then unexpectedly he pulls the tape painfully from her face and you can see the huge rag he stuffed in her mouth, Slyyy spits it out and the following scenes are heart twisting, her voice quivers as she asks why they are doing this, her face is a mess of fear, misery, pain and desperation and all they do is continue to torment her with how they plan on keeping her forever.
