I had to work late, but I have agreed to a date night with my husband before he leaves for a business trip the following morning. Not willing to miss the booking at the restaurant, I have no choice other than to take a shortcut to pick up some time.

I decide to cut across and drive through some fields and then rejoin the main road, having hopefully made up some time.
However, after recent rainfall, the field becomes rather boggy and I end up getting my BMW stuck badly.

I pause and grab my handbag to make a call, but I cannot get any reception in this area as the signal is very bad. I step out for a closer look, but do not venture too far as the ground is so soft and muddy I do not want to dirty my boots. But in these conditions that is easier said than done.

After returning to the driver's seat again I try to move my BMW but it is no use. The car is stuck too badly and there is no time to continue trying to free the car as I will be even later for my dinner date.
I switch off the engine, grab my handbag and walk off to attend my dinner date.
