To Rachel's horror, the device is placed around her neck and her captor, wanting to maximize the cruely, slowly turns the nuts on the bolt, tightening it on her neck. She screams into the tape, but there is nothing she can do, and nothing comes out that can be heard outside the room.

After Rachel suffers that horror of spikes, she faces an even more awful situation. Her captor removes the tape gag, and then stuffs a rag into her mouth. She glares, but realizes that if she resists she will face terrible torment. In fact, Rachel is going to face a terrible torment either way. After the rag is secured in her mouth, it is tied in place with some flexible barbed wire. To make Rachel's personal hell complete, the wire is wrapped around her head over her mouth and eyes, her eyelids closed as well.
