Officer Adams’ assignment for today was to sit on some evidence that was too sensitive to move right away. They’ll have to collect it tomorrow when they have the right equipment to do so properly. In the mean time, she’s bored and wishing it was tomorrow already.

That made it easier for her to get surprised by the bad guy who grabbed her from behind with his hand over her mouth. He quickly had her tied up and on the couch while he figures out a way to abscond with the evidence.
