With all of my makeup still on, I slide into the bath, letting my ears go under, feeling my hair float up around my face. I pinch my nose and put my head underwater, holding it under as long as I can. I exhale bubbles of air and open my eyes to stare up from beneath the water. When I come up for air, I cough and gasp, filling my lungs. My makeup has started to smear, but I ignore it. Pinching my nose closed again, I slide back under the water.
