I dip a toe into the tub to make sure the water is just right. Next I lie back, watching the water slowly begin to soak into the smooth spandex material of my swimsuit. I let my hair drift in the water, talking about how being in the water makes me feel. Finally I hold my breath and submerge before surfacing, sometimes smoothly, sometimes coughing.
