What's going on over at Crooked Way Manor? Sitting atop a large hill with a winding and crooked path leading up to the entrance (hence the name), the massive estate casts a grim shadow over the small town of Portsmouth down below. As it turns out, quite a lot is happening up at the dreary mansion, and not in a good way. The owner... Ludwig Von Steenwick, is beyond terrified of his new lavish home he purchased 3 months ago. So much in fact, that he is currently staying at a hotel a short drive from his massive house, too afraid to return. He didn't believe any of the stories he heard to be true. How could they be? But seeing is believing... and after only 3 months, Ludwig is now convinced his elegant manor is haunted by an evil ghost. Haunted indeed... so say all the tales and rumours; as this house carries some history to it, and here's the backstory.
ago, this glorious manor was once occupied by a wealthy but strange Railroad Conductor named Hubert Pufflebutts. This peculiar fellow had an unhealthy obsession for gold. Over the years, he amassed a large collection of gold coins which he purchased from several buyers and auctions from his travels around the world. His extensive acquisition ultimately drove him mad... as he was convinced that the townsfolk of Portsmouth would at some point come to steal his precious assortment. So, he buried the entire collection deep underground in his basement. Midway through the dig, part of the basement ceiling caved in above him. Rumor has it to this day, the ghost of Hubert haunts the hallways of the grand estate, as he keeps a close watch on his buried treasure... which has yet to be found.
Fast forward to NOW... which brings us to poor Mr. Von Steenwick's predicament. After three weeks of unexplained night-time activity in the house that included a glowing pumpkin, eerie laughter, and green fog coming from the basement... it was enough to scare Ludwig out of his current home. He quickly involved the police in the matter, but they found no such anomalies in the house during their investigation. The police even questioned Chester, the quiet groundskeeper of the estate, regarding the peculiar incidents inside the house. He offered little help to the authorities... as he tends to keep a low profile. The police are baffled, and Ludwig is consumed with fear and refuses to return back home. Something MUST be done!!!!
Enter the beautiful Alba Zevon, a Forensics Investigator who specializes in unexplained and difficult cases. The Portsmouth Police Department assigned her to the case after their efforts into the matter came up empty. She's been tasked with conducting a thorough examination of the house, and she won't be going alone. Assisting her with the case is Latina, her close friend and professional photographer from the Borderland Daily Tribune Newspaper. Latina's expert photography skills will be a valuable asset to the case as the two lovely ladies gather evidence to piece together the mystery of Crooked Way Manor.
A bit puzzled by the scene before them, the lovely pair carefully examine the spooky object along with the other contents in the room, as Latina takes some pictures using her camera. Alba decides to press on; but as she exits the room, she stops in her tracks as she notices a creepy skull mask lying nearby. As Latina walks over to meet up with her partner, both women agree something is very wrong with this house. At this point the girls opt to split up and cover more ground; with Latina heading downstairs to inspect the lower level, while Alba stays above and continues her search of the remaining rooms.
We follow the stunning Ms. Zevon first as she further scouts the upper-level rooms in her tight jeans and turtle-neck top. Unaware that a shadowy, masked figure is lurking behind her... Alba gets a large, musty hand pressed firmly over her mouth as she is bullied into a private room. There, the intruder securely tapes up her hands and feet. When Alba begins to shout for her partner's aid, the masked creep shoves some cloth packing into her mouth and seals it in place with a couple strips of silver tape. With her out of the way, he awaits the other pesky meddler!
The scene now cuts to Latina, who is downstairs roaming the numerous hallways and rooms, completely oblivious to her partner's dilemma. She is interrupted by a loud noise upstairs. She calls out to her partner but gets no response. Hmmm... better go see what Alba is doing up there. Latina climbs the stairwell and finds her friend wriggling about in the private room. As she races in to help, the masked prowler emerges and fiercely hand-gags her. Overpowered by the strong-armed marauder, Latina gets the same treatment as her helpless friend.
The fiendish villain then reveals himself as Chester, the groundskeeper for Mr. Von Steenwick!!! He was slipping into the mansion from the basement window at night and using his array of tools and gadgets to terrorize poor Ludwig into thinking the house was haunted! With the house now unoccupied (minus our taped-up heroines), he is free to rob Ludwig's house of all his valuable belongings. What a prick this guy is!! He leaves the captive ladies to struggle while he loots the manor. Poor girls. STRUGGLE for us...
