At last, it is Jayne's turn, but by now she is hopelessly distracted by her predicament. She humiliates herself by making a mess of the reading and then by losing control of her bladder part way through. The other girls laugh at her humiliating accident rather than sympathizing with her. Acting is such a cutthroat business.
