Tessa is a hard working journalist that won't let the military PR officer get away with his glib answers like he always does - something didn't go as planned, and she's going to get to the bottom of it. Or in this case, she's not because he decides to teach her a lesson, his authority for sure, but doing so with a loosely practical rationale about showing her the difficulties of war.
