Lucia is driving even though her left leg in in a full cast and its hard to shift in her seat. She is discussing going out that night with her friend and trying to figure out what she'll wear on her exposed toes. He friend suggests a bright red sock because her own experience is that people are clumsy and step on casted vulnerable toes. Lucia parks the car as close to her place as possible on the other side of the park. This means she and her friend must crutch through the park to get to her place.
