Its winter and still cold so she covers her toes in black nylon partially to match her other leg and obscure her cast and partially to keep her long toes warmer, although her white toe polish can still be seen shown through the nylon and matches her one white shoe. As they crutch along she complains to her friend that her casted toes are still cold and achy even in the nylons. Her friend suggests an idea without explaining what it is, so they find a place to sit down. When they do, her friend rips through a shocked Mirna's nylon stocking at the toes and begins massaging her cold casted toes. While the massage feels good now Mirna will be crutching around with her long, exposed toes sticking out of her cast, and worse, with ripped nylons. So, she decides to let her friend rip off the rest of her stocking, so it looks better while she continues her crutching back home with her toes exposed.
