Minnie crutches out with a long summer dress on to hide her cast because she's a bit self-conscious about it. However it really doesn't work. Her cast foot is visible out of the dress slit as she drags it behind her and it's obvious people are still checking out her long toes sticking out of it. So she crutches off the sidewalk and on to the grass to avoid other folks staring and finds a bench to rest where she can prop up her cast and wiggle and clean off her exposed toes before continuing.
