"I considered that my husband's behaviour at dinner and his rudeness to my friend was such that it warranted a more severe punishment. As well as giving Mario further strokes with the strap (including the painful green rubber strap) I felt that he should have a taste of the cane. I brought out my trusty crook-handled school mistress cane and gave him several strokes on his already sore backside. Unfortunately I used it so hard that it actually broke on his rear!
