There is still no electricity. Mila suspects that the gardener has sabotaged the electricity in order to spend the evening with Mila in the candlelight. Instead of serving the snack, Mila sends him down to the basement to get a flashlight and onions.

Mila drops the onions on the ground and accidentally steps on them in the dim light...accidentally...thinks the gardener. He's wrong, Mila taught him a lesson on electricity sabotage.
