One is torn from his thoughts while the car door slams loud and tinny. Sitting in the backseat, one rummages in the darkness in his schoolbag and half of it falls into the dark nothing on the floor. Step-Mom in front of me at the steering wheel grimaces and finally starts the car engine. Drive quickly. Gosh, how do you want to find all your schooling in this swing and darkness in the early hour?
