At night Mist D lures Cordelia through the woods with the promise of a surprise - that surprise is pushing Cordelia into quicksand and watching her sink to her doom, so Mist D can run off with Cordelia's husband. As Mist D gloats about the success of her plan, Cordelia's ghost rises from the mire, grabs Mist D and drags her into the mud, where both sink into the quicksand, never to be seen again.
