Miss Scarlet is not going to allow Mr McDonald tarnish the reputation of the school and informs him that he is to be punished with 20 hard strokes of the tawse on his hands.

Taking her XH Lochgelly tawse out of her desk Miss Scarlet instructs him to hold out his hands and any movement or pleads for mercy will only add extra punishment strokes.

Miss Scarlet administers 20 hard strokes to show Mr McDonald, leaving him with red swollen palms, to leave him in no doubt what happens to hands that misbehave.
