Your STEP-Mom is really welcoming, but she's a little upset about the fact that your STEP-dad got the house and she's stuck in a studio apartment. Still, she loves that you're visiting for the holidays. She just wants you to understand how small a place it is, and how little she was able to keep, clothing-wise. So now she encourages you to rest in bed with her, even if she doesn't have any clothes for napping in... and well, when it's clear that you're struggling to rest with a naked woman beside you, she decides to help with that.
