I decide to test out the 1972 Super Beetle I have access to, so I take a short, afternoon spin in it. I give the gas pedal a few quick stabs to rev it up when I first crank it, and I get on it as best I can when I shift gears from time to time. There's a lot of clutch and brake action with shifting of gears since I'm in a neighborhood with stop signs. As I'm going around a curve in the road, I throw it in neutral and rev it a few quick times before putting it back and gear and going.
