Heart pounding, she imagines herself waking up in the morning with a pack full of cigarettes waiting for her hungry lungs. She imagines what it would be like to smoke whenever she wants (which is all the time) - even while she eats! She imagines herself furiously puffing away as she drives to work and of course, all day long at her job as a secretary.

She then imagines how fun bath time would be: fully naked and submerged while gently filling her bare breasts with smoke from her ever-present cigarettes.

She even goes off on a tangent about how she wants so badly to be a chainsmoker, just like Velma - while she ferociously devours cigarette after cigarette in mere seconds!

Finally snapping out of her fantasy, her cravings completely overtake her. The only way to satisfy herself is to smoke two cigarettes at once. Her hands trembling, she lights them both. Gretchen has decided to become a lifelong smoker and one day, hopefully soon, she will become a chainsmoker just like Velma!
