The craving proves too much for Gretchen to resist, so in the middle of the night, she decides to "borrow" one of her roomate Velma's cigarettes. She has to be careful, though: Velma is a hypocrite who smokes heavily, but doesn't want Gretchen doing it.

Back in her bedroom, Gretchen is relieved and excited. Now, for the first time ever, she has an entire cigarette all to herself! Curious, she eyes the unlit cigarette carefully. She even sniffs it to see what it smells like.
