After she failed to loosen her ropework, Theodora cautiously edged her legs close to the floor an effort that was interrupted before she could stand. A rope-link between her waist and ankles then folded the frustrated girl's legs and limited her to awkward contortions; only after learning another tight lesson about the cost of bad behavior would Theodora be freed.
