The disguised man was being well-paid to identify the sources of Vicki's story so he wasn't about to abandon his assignment. Once she was moved to her bedroom and stood bound to the bed's lower railing, he sent video of the naked, crotch-roped and tape-gagged reporter from his phone to convince his corrupt employer that Vicki remained under his control. When she loosened the rope that hitched her to the bed, Vicki slipped onto the floor and tried to edge toward the door but curled up meekly when she was caught.
