Maria agrees to take part in her college professor's experiment involving a mood altering computer chip. She arrives at his home early in the morning and is eager to get started. She places the chip on her forehead and her professor activates it. Maria is reformatted and programmed as a robot. She now refers to herself as a unit, and obeys her programming without fault.
