Paraclito (παρ?κλητος, paràcletos in Greek) is the term used to indicate the Holy Spirit. It is originally a term of the legal language that literally meant "called neighbor", to which the Latin equivalent is the ad-vocatus, that is "lawyer", intended as "defender" or "rescuer", by extension "comforter" .
