Ponca-sa's younger step-sister, Mahala, (Feminine power) tells Fawn that one day, when she becomes a woman, and discovers her feminine gifts, she will receive her new name. Mahala and Ponca-sa return to their camp to prepare for the white men. They know of the lone French fur trader that hunts near their camp, and they wait to ambush him. Ponca-sa tracks him and teaches him a lesson to stay away from her niece, Fawn, as Mahala watches her older step-sister in the fine art of attacking and conquering a man, as she lifts, carries, and sensually dominates him. Mahala meets Ponca-sa on horseback in the valley, and must reach their camp by sundown to plan their attack. They take some much needed stress off by brutally making love to each other--battleworn and tired, as this is what Warrior Women do.
