starring JENNIFER BLAZE as Butterfly-7 and introducing RICK HUNTER as Chimera-1
Our story opens with rogue espionage agent and Butterfly-7 hot on the trail of her lover, Chimera, when the trail turns red-hot as she discovers his trail fresh off of an assassination of a high-ranking agent of the CIA who was an opponent of the 1000 Committee. Looking to deprogram her lover and restore him from an emotionless machine back to his warm and loving self, Butterfly-7 gives chase to Chimera across the ruins of an old church located near the James River. Up and down 300-year old stairways they race, with Chimera barely able to keep his lead over the woman relentlessly pursuing him.
Butterfly has been looking for Chimera ever since he disappeared off the face of the cliff and plummeted to his doom a hundred and fifty feet below (back in episode 2) but no body was ever recovered from the bottom of the ravine and Butterfly-7 has always suspected that Chimera somehow survived the catastrophic fall to the crumbling rocks below. This is Butterfly-7's first actual proof that he lives, and is still working as a mindless drone for the shadowy organization known as the 1000 Committee.
The two chase each other across long halls and through narrow walkways in the outdoor ruins of the church, while the rain drizzles relentlessly downwards. At last, Chimera makes it to the military trestle-bridge and crosses quickly. Butterfly-7 is temporarily to abandon pursuit when she sees infrared security cameras and armed soldiers at the checkpoint. She can still follow Chimera thanks to the "Butterfly Device" she wears embedded in her belt, but pursuit for now will have to wait. Dispatching guards would be difficult without the loss of life, and Butterfly-7 has vowed to never take another life for any reason unless in self-defense.
Chimera, now exhausted, makes it to the extraction point and quickly reviews the mission logs while awaiting his helicopter pickup. Chimera sees images of events and of people dimly familiar to him, but thanks to his thorough brainwashing (in episode 1) by the Alchemist he cannot remember any of their names or the significance they have to him. Chimera goes through operative after operative in the digital database, until he finally stops on Agent Butterfly-7's personal file. Viewing the woman's espionage dossier and watching her impressive head-shot record as a sniper, Chimera cannot help but be impressed but there is also something else about the woman....
She seems somehow... familiar.
Who is this woman? What connection does she have? These are the questions that Chimera asks himself as he watches her file with rapt attention. She seems familiar, but the brainwashing done by the Alchemist was too thorough, and the memories are erased, perhaps permanently. All he can remember was an image of wings, and a woman flying towards him as he plummeted down the side of the cliff, to the jagged granite at the bottom of the rock quarry what seems like a lifetime ago.
Chimera is so obsessed with the holes in his memory that he doesn't even notice Butterfly-7 creeping up invisibly behind him. using her Butterfly-Device's 'stealth shield' to render her invisible to sight. Butterfly-7 comes up silently behind Chimera and gets him in a devastating pin. With his arms locked up tightly, Chimera cannot go for his or for his radio, and so he lunges for his titanium battle-staff, slamming the staff backwards into Butterfly-7's eye as hard as he can. In a move that would have a lesser person, Butterfly's eye is gouged horrifically but the talented spy is too strong to be taken out so easily, so in spite of her injury she continues to apply the hold with relentless pressure until Chimera starts to suffer from oxygen deprivation sickness, which leaves him napping and helpless in her vice-like grip a minute later.
With her strength augmented as it is by the Butterfly Device, the far-weaker Chimera didn't have a chance... a dangerous gamble that the sexy espionage agent was willing to take. With her lover in custody, Butterfly uses her wrist communicator to reach the neutral agent that intelligence agencies refer to cryptically as THE FIXER. Butterfly-7 wants Chimera deprogrammed, but the cost of having the brainwashing reversed is ridiculously expensive. Still, Butterfly-7 would bankrupt a small nation to restore her lover to the way he was, and Butterfly-7 promises the funds even if she has no idea how to acquire all of the money in such a short window of time.
She hardly notices Chimera slowly regaining consciousness on the ground.
Grabbing at her suddenly, a second fight breaks out against teacher and student and the weakened Butterfly-7 attempts to hold Chimera off, but Butterfly-7 has spent exhaustive weeks tracking her ex-lover halfway across the country, and the Butterfly Device is low on power, much like Butterfly-7 herself. Her stamina failing her after Chimera pops a neuro-form gas capsule under her nose and purposely exposes her to the toxic rest-causing fumes, Butterfly-7 is overwhelmed by sheer brute and eventually tasered into defeat by Chimera, who claims her as his prize. As Chimera tries to rip the Butterfly Device off of Butterfly's slender-yet-tapered waistline, he receives a powerful electrical shock from the anti-tamper mechanism and Chimera realizes that the belt is bio-bonded to butterfly's unique bio-signature and cannot be removed normally. Instead, Chimera-1 brings her to an underground experimental laboratory for safekeeping until the 1000 Committee arrives to take the napping Butterfly-7 into custody.
Reunited, the clones of Chimera-1 and Butterfly-7 are finally together, but will they find love... or only dissection at the hands of cruel military scientists who want to mindwipe and mindfuck Butterfly-7 and get their greedy hands on the powerful and perplexing alien technology located in Butterfly's power belt?
