Linda has been tied to a chair for a very long time. Her elbows are released as it would be too much to keep them pinned together for days at a time, BUT she is tightly tied up with a lot of rope and a tight muffling over the mouth gag is tightly wrapped and tied around her head. This over the mouth gag is tied over her other gag, so she is double gagged.

Linda knows that it's not a good sign, for her, that her captors are keeping her in the basement tied and gagged like this. Hard for her to believe that they will let her go. She will struggle to speak through her gag, but so far she is pretty well gagged and the ropes are not giving at all.
