Minka was born to Korean parents of French and Vietnamese ancestry in Seoul, South Korea. Minka attended college in South Korea, where she became a skilled tennis player. Minka's first photoshoot was shot by Graham in England for the American Score magazine. In 1994, Minka went back to the United States, where she continued to pose for Score, toured as an exotic dancer and starred in her first adult film Duke of Knockers 2, which was also directed by Graham.
