Katie and Tom are a retired couple in their late 50's. After retiring they are still trying to find things to do that fill out their days. Katie is smoking on the couch and telling Tom about where she has gone to visit and that he should have come along. You get the impression that Tom is pretty glad that he missed it. Tom tells Katie that Brandon called to say that he was coming over to talk to her. Brandon is their step-grandson.
