I am now calling this practice my mermaid practice. I have seen the mermaid entertainers and would love to acquire some of their skills. They make it look so easy.

I take a deep breath, feeling the cool air fill my lungs before exhaling slowly. With one final inhale, I lower myself into the water, feeling the rush of the cool liquid envelop my body. I feel the pressure building in my chest and the need to breathe growing stronger with each passing second. I hold my breath and feel the water surrounding me. Finally, after what seems like an eternity, I surface, gasping for air.

This time I try to keep my eyes open but they are not use to it.....I need to pick up some goggles and nose plug! The practice continues.......are you timing my dunks? once I am more confident I will get a timer out!! And once I am able to hold my breath what more can I do underwater? suggestions?
