Alanna is in very fragile health, but she is addicted to cigarettes. She is constantly coughing and she is worried about her health but she can't be sure if she is sick again or if she just smokes too much. Cigarettes are certainly much more dangerous than the flu, so we don't know which is worse for Alanna.
