The scene opens to find Wenona lounging on the steps in the shallow end of the pool, simply relaxing in the sweltering Florida heat and humidity. Only her upper torso is above the water, with the rest of her body in the cooling waters. After a few moments, and in a huff, Ashlynn comes outside, clearly upset. It doesn't take long for Wenona to coax from her step-daughter what an absolutely terrible day she's had trying to track down a decent job. It seems graduating was only half the battle.
