The female of the strike team, Agent Krista, is dressed in street clothes and has a device implanted in her body that masks her for short periods of time from visual or telepathic detection, making her an ideal agent to take down Jean up close.Wanting to make sure that Jean is indeed a mutant, Agent Krista pulls a sidearm on Jean and comes up upon her from behind, pretending to be a mugger and asking Jean for her wallet and her car keys. After Jean easily subdues Agent Krista with simple telepathy to mesmerize her mind, one of the team members (hiding in the forest) sees this and activates a brief electric shock in Krista's implant, jolting her enough to free her from Jean's mental control. Resorting to telekinesis instead, Jean uses her mental powers to seize control of Krista's arms, her to disarm herself and then to hug herself in a tight-fitting psuedo-straitjacket. Realizing this is the person that they want, the team moves in from the forest covers and quickly use their tranquilizer darts on Marvelous Girl. Reeling from the potent chemicals, Jean is unsteady on her feet and starts swaying from side to side. To make matters worse, Agent Krista pulls forth a capsule containing cortical neuro-inhibitors and spritzes Jean in the face with a full dose, diminishing Marvelous Girl's telepathic and telekinetic abilities. Even with her body woozy and her powers weakened, Jean turns on the offensive and tries to telepathically neutralize the strike team and nearly succeeds except for Agent Krista pulling forth a strange government-issued, square and she quickly comes up behind Jean and clamps it down into place, ending Marvelous Girl's struggles once and for all. A quick scan of Marvelous Girl's costume shows that her costume is made of unstable molecules and her belt buckle contains a powerful radio-transmitter that can keep her in contact with the other Hex-Men. Stripping the barely-conscious Marvelous Girl of her belt and her bright yellow boots (so that she cannot escape on foot) the weakened superheroine is finally put to rest.When Jean awakens a day later, she's been located to a safehouse. The walls are reinforced, the doors electronically locked (and thus immune to Jean's telekinetic powers), and the building is shielded electromagnetically from detection by the Hex-Men's mutant-detection network grid known as CEREBRO. As Jean sits up, she realizes she's been stripped down out of her Marvelous Girl costume, wearing nothing more than her bra and panties, and her favorite pair of suntan-colored pantyhose. A feeble old man enters the room in a wheelchair and with an oxygen tank being the only thing keeping him alive. He introduces himself as "Omega", the official leader of H.A.R.M. (Hatred Against Radical Mutants) and as a gesture of goodwill he gives Jean her old green-and-yellow "Marvelous Girl" costume she wore back in the 70's to allow her to keep some of her modesty. Gratefully dressing, Jean asks why she's been captured and brought here. Omega says that he suffers from a terminal illness called Netterson's Syndrome, a disease which will soon finish him unless he can get Jean's help. Omega wants to tap into the "Phoenix esiding deeply-buried in Jean's psyche, in the hopes that the Phoenix can cure him of his disease.Jean at first refuses, never wishing to release that cosmic entity residing deep in her body, so Omega sends in a sophisticated henchman named "Mister X" to 'educate' Jean into making her more submissive as a prisoner. Jean's powers still all-but-negated by the cortical neuro-inhibitors in her Jean fights helplessly against Mr. X as he grabs her and sexually accosts her. Mr. X gropes her lustfully, hurts her mercilessly, bearhugs her, lifts up her skirt and feels up her panties, and brutally dominates her with pure physical until finally he grows tired of her never-ending tears and her shrieking near-hysterical cries for mercy and finally Mr. X crushes her around the neck with his bare hands and throttles her to within an inch of her life, dropping her body to the floor where she lies on the carpet, moaning and groaning piteously.
