TLDR(ish) summary:
Paranormal skeptic (and Halloween hater) Ludella enters a legendary “haunted house” with the sole intent of proving it is NOT haunted, but rather occupied by a crazy person with nothing better to do than play a ghost to scare the neighborhood. She trips over and smashes a pumpkin in the entry, and between that and her general bad attitude, the spirit addresses her and demands a new pumpkin.

Ludella refuses to get a new pumpkin since the house is already full of them and she’s not impressed by what she calls “knock-off special FX from the Halloween store” when the ghost makes some spooky sounds and the lights flicker. She thinks this whole thing is a hoax and continues to be a skeptic even when an invisible presence bends her over the couch, yanks down her pants, and then a strange assortment of items float into the room and dance around her before taking turns spanking her big bottom repeatedly.

Even after all that, she believes it must have been some kind of effect that kept her stuck to the couch, like magnets. Fed up with her attitude (and the fact that Ludella repeatedly refers to her as a psychopath), the spirit decides Ludella really must be taught a lesson, and thus more punishment ensues on her bottom via flying needles, a chair full of tacks, disappearing clothes, more spanking on her naked booty with a wooden board, a prodding by a meat thermometer to check the temperature of her swollen behind, and lastly a very hot grill... to REALLY roast her pumpkin.

Ludella finally caves in after all that and apologizes to the spirit, begging to be freed from the hot grill. Begging for water to cool her behind, the spirit suggests dunking it in the “bobbing for apples” cauldron, to which Ludella does gladly, with goofy grins of relief as she grinds her sore bottom into the cauldron water. Her bratty demeanor has completely changed to an eager to please subservient one, willing to do absolutely anything if it means no more punishment from the spirit. Her final task is to plant her glowing pumpkin on the windowsill for all of Halloween night for the whole town to see. Though embarrassed to be seen but naked by her friends, she does not want to anger the spirit, and thus continues to display her great (sore) pumpkin.
