After writing a scathing newspaper article about a man named Mr. David North, Vonka and her editor find lawsuits filed against them by the man in question. Given the nature of the article, they realize there is a good chance that North will win, and Vonka worries that she will lose her job and hence her income. She visits North in an effort to smooth things over, but, not unexpectedly, North is not interested in retracting his lawsuit unless Vonka publishes an apology.
