Sarah is in dire financial straights, and not for the first time. She has borrowed money from Dave before and she has failed to pay it back. Little wonder that he doesn't want to loan her any more. Sarah explains how a broken thumb led to medical costs which emptied her bank account, and she almost pleads for help.
