Superman has heard of a new villain in Metropolis, going by the name of "Nemesis." He doesn't know what his powers or origin are, but he tracks him down to the Mayor's mansion where he finds him lurking.

When he confronts the Nemesis, he is quickly surprised that he is outmatched. The Nemesis has been genetically engineered from organisms all across the galaxy to be the perfect humanoid being.
