After a tearful day at school, Emma Christie makes her way home with the dreaded letter from her detention earlier. She has been given strict instructions to place it straight into my hands, and she knows better than to get herself in more trouble than she's already in.

A note from Miss Kendal's office to inform me of Emma's appalling behaviour and subsequent punishment, with a firm recommendation for further disciplinary measures in the home. Utterly disappointed, I question Emma on the note; her cheeky attitude begins to show now that she is at home and the little madam insinuates that the teachers were exaggerating the issue merely to punish her.

Lies and accusations simply will not be tolerated in my house. Emma is sent immediately to fetch the soap to have the filthy words washed straight from her mouth. Lathering it up, I give her a no nonsense mouthsoaping with bitter tasting, traditional soap. Cruelly, she is made to bite down and hold the soap in place while the scolding continues. She'll certainly think twice about lying to me so quickly again.
