From between the buildings where I smashed cigarette butts I go, then turn the corner and hesitate for a moment and you see my veiny feet filling the frame. Up I go on the step and my left calf bulges nicely. Then down the hall I go, my long flowered skirt flowing, my calves bulging and my heels clicking. You see my slender Achilles tendons just above the heels of the yellow pumps and marvel and the way my feet turn out, thanks to years of ballet. Finally I go in the office and you lose sight of me as I sit down, ready to put on my comfortable sandals.
