This story opens with John Marsh hooded and tied to the steel spider web. He struggles in an upright position for a couple minutes before he is hoisted into the air so he is hanging on the web, face down.

The second scene finds John hanging by a painful rope harness on his waist. He is hoisted high with his ankles cuffed to one leg of the tripod and his wrists cuffed to each of the other two legs. The hood has been removed, but he is gagged.
