John Marsh just jumps into some very deep, soupy mud, where he nearly sinks out of sight. He struggles to keep from going under, he climbs out and dives back in, head-first, he goes under quicksand style, and eventually he climbs out. It's just a smorgasbord of sloshing around in bottomless mud that swallows bodies whole.
